THE STORY OF SONORA

Who or what is Sonora and how the story was created?

One of my favorite tasks (which my dear mom found out about soon after I started crawling and walking on my own) was wandering everywhere something interesting was happening.

First of all, of course, it was exploring the surroundings of the home, observing the animal and plant inhabitants and obligatory some sand for a snack. Later I ran away to the neighbors, then to the city and …

Even as a seemingly adult woman and mother of three, I still like to wander and observe people and nature. That’s how all chapters of my life were written.

A few years ago I was visiting a friend and saw a book. One of my habits is that when a book on the shelf catches my attention, I randomly open it and read the message of the book. This time it was Taisha Abelar’s book The Sorcerer’s Crossing: A Woman’s Journey. There, for the first time, I really become aware of the word SONORA.

It inspires some indescribable inside happening, hmmm. That name really resonates with me and tells me something. By the way, in Slovenian »nora« means crazy, »so« is similar then »co« in English … cocrazy – sonora.

I explored the meanings of Sonora… Mexican state, Indians, interestingly it is on the border of the state of Chihuahua in the east, which is another coincidence, when I pet one of my family’s best friends – a chihuahua?
